Why would you want to record your next deposition with video?
1. To demonstrate a witness’ body language A witness's’ demeanor can’t be witnessed by transcript alone. A transcript doesn’t show a witness’ spontaneous reactions, emotional state and body language, pregnant pauses, nervous fidgeting, angry glares and other emotional reactions.
2. The power of video can have a much higher retention effect than just the written word. The old saying, “Seeing is Believing” has great meaning here. Just don’t read it, see and hear the witness testimony.
3. The cost of Expert Witness can be greatly reduced with the use of a video. Flying an Expert witness like a Doctor across country along with his or her hourly charge can add up very quickly into a charge your client may have trouble paying for.
4. Video Deposition may help with boredom. As the case drags on, holding the juror’s attention may get harder and harder. Reading the written word could lose their attention and the case. You probably will get only get one chance in court. Make it count.
5. A key witness may be in an accident or ill or even dying from his or her injury’s such as cancer or heart failure. With a video deposition, you can help secure that their visual presence seen, and voice is heard by the Jury.
